Carbonostics database accredited by third-party review
The Carbonostics Database was reviewed and ranked by third-party organization myclimate, a Swiss-based NGO specialized in climate change and emissions data.
Myclimate validated the math model of Carbonostics and completed two annual full data reviews and attributed comments and rankings to each emission factor.
Myclimate Managing Director René Estermann said in the verification for the Carbonostics: Brand tool*:
“The Carbonostics Math Model correctly includes all relevant lifecycle stages of a food product such as ingredients, processing, packaging, transport, storage, use phase, disposal and recycling. Therefore, Carbonostics is a useful tool for product-level lifecycle screenings, identifying hotspots, or in combination with own primary data for detailed product carbon footprints.”
